Looking back on 2009

So, its a new year and I'm finally a full time doula! It's been along time coming. Something that started out as a favor to a friend because of my labor and delivery experience, and then blossomed into a ministry once I became certified, is now supporting my family and blessing me more than I ever imagined. Below is a recap on all the beautiful births I attended and all the stats.

  • Attended 21 births at 6 different hospitals/no homebirths this year
  • Biggest baby= 10.4
  • Smallest= 4.8 (preemie at 35 weeks)
  • Longest labor= 36 hours
  • Shortest labor= 2 hours and delivered baby in the back of the van on the way to the hospital
  • 4 VBACS
  • 13 girls
  • 8 boys
  • 17 had vaginal deliveries
  • 14 of those vaginal deliveries had no medication
  • 4 delivered by cesarean section (one was breech)
  • no babies had to spend time in NICU this year!
